The NCLEX-RN will have between 75 and 265 questions.
The NCLEX-PN have anywhere between 85 and 205 questions
To pass the NCLEX, you must demonstrate that you have met the minimum standard of competency.
The official NCLEX exams are computer-adaptive tests (CAT), which means each question you answer correctly determines the difficulty of the next question, as well as the overall number of questions you will answer. Once your competency level has been identified. You can pass or fail at any number of questions.
The NCLEX algorithm can identify your passing-level competency with 95% confidence. Answering questions correctly will require both nursing content knowledge and critical thinking skills.
Official results will be sent to you approximately 6 weeks after taking the official NCLEX Exam. Some states however offer a quick results service which allows you to access your “unofficial” results within 2 working days.

You can retest 45 days after your previous exam and take it 8 times a year, but not more than once within a 45 day period.
